| The Next Generation of E.T.'s |
Welcome to our oil stain on the internet... Our Members build and drive traditionally styled Hot Rods and Customs based on 1930’s thru the 1970’s styling trends of the time. The original E.T Car Club started in 1964 with the purpose to establish a car club that promotes the enjoyment, modification and preservation of street rods and classic cars, and to have social interaction. We now have added the term restoration into our mission statement, for some members are now returning classics to a like new state. The ages of our members range from twenty-something to eighty-something. An intriguing variety of classic marques are represented, including Packard, Mopar, Cadillac, Buick, Chrysler, Chevy, Ford Lincoln and many more. A touch of Woodland history falls with this car club. The E.T.’s were one of four car clubs in Yolo County and were known to be the fastest and craziest bunch in town. The YMCA joined with them in holding dances were local bands would be featured. Starting in the 60’s, the group ran at least 20 members strong into the late 70’s where this club disbanded. In 2010 we were re-established again in by the sons and daughters of the members in that era. Many of the original E.T.’s members still live in Woodland and some still have their cool rides. Photos, jackets and memorabilia of dances, cruise nights and races of the past have been collected to commemorate this re-birth. E.T.’s next generation welcomes past members with an honorary gold membership to the club. History of the E.T’s and the other local car clubs generate many good memories that now will not soon be forgotten. We continue sponsor activities intended to foster the enjoyment of our prized vehicles. For any month in which rain doesn't threaten, we might plan a "Cruise” to a special location, car show or event. On special occasions our excursions end up at historic locations or a private collection, giving our membership a rare opportunity to see automobiles not otherwise shown to the public. The Forth of July weekend is always filled with E.T’s Firecracker Car Show that brings the community together with fun for everyone. Finally, we offer our members opportunities to network and consult each other about restoration projects, parts sources, classics for sale--all this, in the interest of sharing our appreciation for fine automobiles from the classic era. This web site is for all of those that enjoy our common interest in this endeavor. Please enjoy our web site and pass along to family and friends Sound good? Got a car? Join us! |
